Visual Art

Hampton SHS offers an extensive and exciting range of Arts courses, extending the skills of students in both the gifted and talented programs, and generalist art courses. Catering for both the Visual and Performing Arts Hampton SHS possesses a Theatre and Dance Room with two well-equipped Visual Arts rooms. Being one of only four Specialist Dance schools in the state Hampton offers the very best of dance tuition from a range of state and internationally recognised performers and choreographers.

Outline

Hampton SHS receives recognition for its theatrical performances and enables students to access experience in stagecraft by involvement on the stage, stage design and construction or behind the scenes involvement such as backstage, lighting and sound.

Media students are offered the opportunity to record images on film, learning the processes of editing, special effects and sound.

A dynamic Visual Arts environment provides students with opportunities to create artworks over a range of disciplines including painting, printmaking, graphics, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery and textiles.

Lower School

Entering Year 8 students are able to access not only the Specialist Dance program but also extension programs in Art/Media and Drama.

Upper School

Year 11 and 12 students are academically challenged in TEE Art and Drama Studies or can choose to further specialize in the Visual and Performing Arts via the Specialist Dance program, Art & Design, Drama or Media Studies.
