Two distinctive pathways are on offer for all students. The ATAR stream commences in Year 10 with the Year 10 ATAR pathway course aimed at preparing students for the challenges of Senior School Geography and Modern History. Students who achieve an A or B grade are recommended for continuation into the Year 11 Geography and/or Modern History ATAR Course of Study. These students are university bound.
The Training stream also commences in Year 10 with the Year 10 Training pathway course aimed at preparing students with the necessary skills to be literate and numerate and good citizens of the 21st century with current content knowledge in Geography, History, Business and Economics, and Civics and Citizenship. The students’ focus is on entering the world of work or further non-university training.
In Year 11 students are offered the choice of the General WACE pathway with Geography General and/or Modern History General courses. They are also offered ATAR WACE Geography, where the focus is on Hazards and Globalisation and/or ATAR WACE Modern History, where the focus is on Nazi Germany and 1920’s-1930’s America.
ATAR students can continue into Year 12 with ATAR WACE Geography, where the focus is on Sustainable Cities and Climate Change and/or ATAR WACE Modern History, where the focus is on Russia and the Cold War.
